Book #17: Franny and Zooey

I get to read J.D. Salinger that is NOT The Catcher in the Rye!

This will be weird.

Actually, since I’ve only read The Catcher in the Rye once and that was several years ago, it won’t be weird at all. I just remember when I first found out that there were other Salinger books out there I was like whoaaaaa. Weird. Because apparently in my mind, J.D. Salinger is a literary one-hit-wonder.

Ha. That’s kind of funny.

Forgive me for being silly. I’m kind of sick.

Anyway, I don’t know an awful lot about Franny and Zooey, other than that it’s really really short, bits of it were first published in The New Yorker (which I love and have been reading more than books lately), and that Zooey Deschanel is named after Zooey, which is awesome.

That’s all I know. So. Those are the only impressions I have. I don’t know what it’s about or anything like that.

I do know that I really liked the writing in The Catcher in the Rye, so I probably like how Salinger writes, which means that at least I’ll like the writing in Franny and Zooey. Probably. I’m actually quite looking forward to it.

That’s all.

Also, I’ve read some of it and I do like it so far. I just don’t want to make any comments on content, plot, or thoughts I have because I’m afraid that they’d be premature. Or something.
